This female football fan learned a painful lesson in always keeping your eyes on the play after taking a powerful shot flush in the face. 

This is the moment a female football fan who was not paying attention to a match in the stadium was hit in the face at full power with a ball kicked by a Portuguese player.

The incident took place during a 1-1 draw between Portuguese sides Porto and Feirense in the former's Dragao Stadium.

The woman was sitting behind the goal, and although she had a good seat, she was not paying attention and did not even seem to see Porto midfielder Ruben Neves' strike coming straight towards her.

But she does not even flinch as the ball hits her flush in the face, slapping her head backwards and causing obvious pain as she puts her hands up too late. 

According to local media, the woman had to be treated on the spot for her injuries and it was not specified how seriously she was hurt.

Online commentators said she was likely to have been left with with a broken nose and certainly a severe headache.
